ABC – Always Be Creating

I told you this would happen. I told you I was terrible at blogging and couldn’t keep this up. After an initial flurry of posts, there's been silence since I got busy again.

I know this pattern all too well. My last blog followed the same slow and painful decline into obsolescence when I went from freelance to in-house agency work. However, this post is about to change all that.

I’ve got stuff to do. Lots of stuff to do, actually. Huge great articles to write, ad scripts to finish, a whole bloody website to launch, social media posts to craft for very important people and a series of events and gatherings to attend (I’m not that popular, my wife books them in).

If you’ve got this far, you’re probably wondering why you’re wasting your time reading this.

The last thing on my mind is writing something for this site, yet here I am tapping away as deadlines inch closer. Why am I doing this? Because I’m sticking to my initial plan. I said I was going to use this blog to free my fingers and get my brain ticking ahead of diving into “real” work, and that’s exactly what it’s helping me do now.

I’m treating myself like a client. I promised I’d continue to write these posts and, damn it, this time I’m going to.

If you’ve got this far, you’re probably wondering why you’re wasting your time reading this. I’m not going to try to convince you otherwise. Just know that you’re helping me to be better at what I do and, hopefully, learning that I’m committed to my work and my clients, even when, for 20 minutes of the day, that client is me.
